In the first episode we spoke to Merv Romeo and Hedley Thomson about the Yarrowee. This part storm water drain, underground and above ground river that looks like a creek, is steeped in history and has been an integral part of Ballarat since before the 1850s goldrush.
But every now and then the Yarrowee really does look like a river. Below is a video of two boys floating down on tyre tubes during a flood. Thanks Merv for digging up this footage.
